Actual Termination Dust

I looked back, and it was August 25th when I saw powdery snow on one mountain top. Yesterday, Sep 11, ALL of the mountains from here to Carcross had fresh snow. The level had to be down to 5000 feet, so the taller mountains had a lot of snow. It is still a powdery look, like sugar sprinkled on chocolate, but it won't all melt in one day this time. The temperatures are staying in the 40's and 50's down here at sea level, so probably colder up high.
We got a good bear viewing yesterday, as well as a good (meaning not too high) goat viewing.
One benefit of the rain is that the waterfalls are more spectacular, and more numerous.
Peggie won at cards again last night. Since Jane came back from Sitka to replace Karin and Rhonda we have adopted her scoring rules, which means when you don't make your bid, you go set 10 points. Before, if you didn't get your bid you just stayed even. The new scoring method somehow benefits Peggie more than the rest of us.
